Phosphate fertilizers

Phosphate fertilizers deliver phosphorus, one of the three primary crop nutrients, in a form plants can take up for strong root growth, flowering and seed development. Siman has supplied phosphate and phosphorus fertilizers to buyers worldwide since 1994, exporting DAP, MAP, triple super phosphate and rock phosphate in bulk to agriculture and blending markets across more than 90 countries on six continents. Whether you compound your own NPK grades or apply straight phosphate products in the field, we can source on-spec material and handle the export logistics to your port.

As per the name of this group implies these are fertilizers made up on the base of the phosphate rock which is only found in the nature in various places around the globe. The phosphate is  among the most abundant elements on our planet.

The rock phosphate is being mined and then treated with other compounds, for example with phosphoric acid, to find its way to various finished products. It can be also directly applied to the soil in various appropriate for this purpose cases.

The phosphate is one of the most important components for the root development, for the plant nutrition and for the seed development.

The phosphate fertilizers that Siman Ltd markets are listed below:

All phosphate fertilizers trace back to phosphate rock (rock phosphate), a naturally occurring mineral mined in a limited number of regions. In its raw form it releases phosphorus slowly and suits certain soils and organic systems. More commonly the rock is treated with acids to produce concentrated, plant-available products: reacting it with phosphoric acid and ammonia gives the ammoniated phosphates DAP and MAP, while treating it with phosphoric acid gives triple super phosphate. The products differ mainly in phosphorus concentration (expressed as P2O5), nitrogen content and how quickly the phosphorus becomes available – which is what lets a buyer match the grade to a crop, soil and blending need.

Applications

Phosphorus is essential early in the crop cycle: it drives root establishment, energy transfer, flowering and grain or seed fill, which makes phosphate fertilizers a staple of broad-acre and horticultural agriculture. Growers apply DAP and MAP at planting to give seedlings an available phosphorus supply, while triple super phosphate is chosen where nitrogen is not wanted alongside the phosphorus. Blenders and NPK compounders use DAP and MAP as core building blocks because of their high, consistent nutrient content. Rock phosphate serves long-cycle crops, pasture and organic systems where a gradual, sustained phosphorus release fits the program. Demand is strong across the large agricultural economies we serve – from soybean and maize belts in the Americas to smallholder and plantation farming across Africa and Asia.

Siman has traded fertilizers and industrial chemicals since 1994 and ships to more than 90 countries across six continents, from Bulgaria to Australia and through Europe, Africa and the Americas. We source phosphate fertilizers from well-checked suppliers, guarantee the timing of delivery, quality and packing, and can arrange independent third-party inspection of quality and quantity before shipment. We work on common international delivery terms including CFR, CIF, CIP, DDU and DDP, so you receive a landed, on-spec product with the export documentation handled. Minimum order is usually one full container or 100 MT, with smaller LCL quantities possible for some products.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DAP and MAP?

Both are ammoniated phosphates supplying phosphorus and nitrogen. DAP (di-ammonium phosphate, typically 18-46-0) carries more nitrogen and is slightly alkaline in initial reaction, while MAP (mono-ammonium phosphate) is more concentrated in phosphorus, lower in nitrogen and mildly acidic, which suits high-pH soils and blends.

What is triple super phosphate used for?

Triple super phosphate (TSP) is a straight, nitrogen-free phosphate fertilizer with a very high P2O5 content. It is used where a concentrated phosphorus dose is needed without adding nitrogen – for example on legumes or in custom blends.

Do you supply phosphate fertilizers in bulk for export?

Yes. Siman is an international phosphate fertilizer exporter shipping to more than 90 countries. Minimum order is usually one full container or 100 MT, with smaller LCL quantities available for some products.

Can rock phosphate be applied directly to the soil?

Yes, rock phosphate can be applied directly as a slow-release phosphorus source, and it suits certain soils and organic programs. Most phosphate fertilizer, however, is made by processing the rock into concentrated, plant-available products such as DAP, MAP and TSP.
