Caustic soda

Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), also known as caustic soda, is a strong alkali used in the production of soaps and detergents.

Uses in Soap and Detergent Manufacturing:

  • Soap production (saponification): Sodium hydroxide reacts with fats and oils to produce soap and glycerin.
  • Detergents: It is used to adjust pH and break down grease and organic materials.
  • Cleaning agents: NaOH helps dissolve proteins and other residues, making it effective in heavy-duty cleaners.
