Glass industry

Glass is a product of melting silicon dioxide with other oxide alloys.

Usually raw materials for glass production come in shape of salts/have salt structures which disintegrate at melting temperature. They are devided in two large groups:

Base materials (glass makers, melts, stabilizers):

  • Sodium Carbonate/Soda Ash

  • Calcium Carbonate

  • Potassium Carbonate/Potash

  • Calcium Magnesium Carbonate

  • Ammonium Bifluoride

  • Sodium nitrate

  • Barium carbonate

Auxiliary materials (added to basic materials):

  • Manganese Dioxide

  • Zirconium Oxide

  • Other metal oxides

    Ethyl silicate
